The replacement screen had the wrong connector. As shown in my first picture, the connector from the display does not match with the port on the board. In the second photo (the broken original screen) you can see that the two connectors are entirely different. Admittedly, I got a late production cycle 3DS in 2017, so maybe they changed the connector. All I know is that the replacement screen does not work with my New 3DS XL.

Update: I went to get a refund today after my installation, just to realize that this was a 1st generation display, so it's entirely my fault. I've updated my review to 5 stars assuming that it would work for anyone with a 1st edition 3DS XL. The installation was a REAL pain regardless, so I would not recommend this to anyone who isn't extremely capable with small electronics repair

The screen initially didn't arrived due to an issue with the mail service but after I contacted the company they quickly resolved the issue and I received the screen. I installed it into the 3ds and it works fantastic. All functions including 3d work as expected. Great product and great company to work with. Would order from them again in the future. Make sure you have a couple hours, the proper tools, and some good instructions (easy to find online) because it's not exactly a plug and play process but manageable if you take your time and are prepared.

I ordered this from the Game Console Warehouse seller, and while the LCD looked like it fit well in the system and was in new condition, it had a plastic protective film over the screen itself. Removing the film left a residue on the screen that is nearly impossible to take off. Even using 99% alcohol barely dented it after half an hour of scrubbing as seen in the picture I posted. I felt that going further would end up damaging the screen so I wound up returning it in the end. I also tried contacting the seller but I never heard back a response.
Overall be cautious when ordering from the seller.

Works perfectly! Bright, sharp, and fully functioning 3D view. It was a pain to replace with all the steps needed to install the screen. I used a P000 Philips to get the screws and make sure that all the ribbons are properly seated and clamped before closing it up. It definitely saved me over 4 times the amount to have it sent in for repair. It did come in longer than usual since it comes in from China but it still came in earlier than the estimated shipping arrival time.

Poor quality replacement, never bothered installing because of the horrible blemish in the middle of the screen. I used to fixed electronics and occasionally screen replacements would have a screen protector on them for shipping however this is not a screen protector. It appears that it is a lens adhered to the rest of the lcd assembly that was not vacuumed properly causing pockets of air to be trapped underneath. Although I would prefer a refund I'm not going through all the trouble sending it back considering it costs a fraction of what I paid to make one, it wouldn't hurt to send me another. I'm sure the company could do better than this given a second chance.
